Christine + Lance - Park Hyatt Hotel wedding - Washington, DC

My first blog post of 2014 is from my last wedding of 2013. There’s no way I would have predicted that when Christine and I first spoke about her December wedding that it would be on a 60 degree day! Seriously. It couldn’t have been better…sunny and warm. We still had limited daylight to play with since it was the shortest day of the year but we made the most of it. And when we had time left over after the group portraits and before the ceremony we got to play with the very cool design of the Park Hyatt. I particularly love the portraits we did at the bottom of the stairs with all the little hanging lights. From the minute Christine and Lance saw each other for their first look through the emotional and sweet ceremony, tears and laughter flowed. But mostly they were just the most laid-back, relaxed couple—really happy to just go with the flow and enjoy the family and friends gathered to celebrate their union. A special shout out to Michael Deltette who makes it all work at the Park Hyatt—from bustling the bride’s dress to helping her apply lipstick late in the reception!
