Washington DC Food Photographer – Day of the Dead parties
When I’m not photographing weddings, it’s a pretty good bet I’m working as a food photographer in Washington DC! This fall I happened to photograph two different Day of the Dead food events in the city. The first was a wedding planner’s luncheon at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Adams Morgan and the second a member’s only party at the Sulgrave Club on Dupont Circle.
The planner’s luncheon had lots of fun details including custom Tarot cards for the attendees by Emily Baird Design, sugar skull vases filled with flowers from Petal’s Edge and smoky custom tequila cocktails infused under glass. The gorgeous food was provided by Relish Catering and the backdrop of the Cultural Institute ballroom and the colorful Day of the Dead chair backs make the room bright and cheery (especially considering the theme!). The whole party was pulled together beautifully by Vicky Choy at Event Accomplished. Vicky and I have worked some weddings together, including a gorgeous one last year at 2941 Restaurant in Fairfax.
The Sulgrave Club holds several theme-nights for their members usually based around an international cuisine. Their Day of the Dead event included several theme rooms of Mexican food and drink: beer, tequila, wine, handmade tacos, ceviche and my personal favorite–dessert!!
I love photographing food in the DC area and to see more of my food and party photography you can take a look at by other website!
Thanks for capturing my event partners’ work. This was a fun project. Thanks for being part of the team.
